Another Great Ride in Jennings
A day in Jennings State Forest on horseback is always good! Five of us got together on Saturday for a morning ride; it really wasn't too hot and the bugs were so-so. We set a camera up on a post to get a self portrait of the group.
Marilyn had her horse, Spirit, all decked out in red bandanas to help ward off the flies - she says it works.
Cathy borrowed Anna's TWH, Layla, for a first time experience that we think she really enjoyed. Here's a video of her first ride on a gaited horse.

Sal Taylor Ride
It seems that lately, we don't have a "defined" group anymore, which is just fine. We all communicate via e-mail and whoever can ride, rides. It's working out great. Our fellow riders on the "TROT" Yahoo group communicate a lot and join us when they can. (Of course, a good portion of them are also FCTB members as well.) Anyhoo....a few of us got together for a Saturday morning ride at Sal Taylor Creek Preserve which is a city preservation project. We rode as a group for about 2.5 hours and then Michelle S and Michele F took off again for another ride. Here's some more photos that Michelle took during our ride..... PHOTOS

Ravines Ride Photos
Today turned out to be almost picture perfect for a trail ride. Six of us got started early enough to beat the heat and believe it or not, the bugs were not bad at all. KD, Traci, Michele F, Michelle S, Coralee and Susan all hit the trail right around 8:30 am and headed out on the red trail first. After looping around we
came down the powerlines towards Black Creek to get the open, hot part of the ride done early. After we played in the water for a bit, we headed back on the yellow trail along the creek, finally winding up on the white trail that comes up behind the golf course and back to the trailers. We only rode for 2-1/4 hours, but it was a good time. Traci was riding a horse she has in for training and he was a champ as well. She took the opportunity to turn some spooks into training sessions along the way. (click on any picture to enlarge)
